Washington - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has warned consumers to stop using the Gorsetle baby recliner immediately because they do not meet the federal safety standards for infant sleep products and pose a risk of suffocation and fall for infants.
The lounge chair does not meet the safety requirements of CPSC for baby sleep products because they do not have a stance. In addition, the lounge chair does not meet the requirements of labeling, labeling, and guidance literature. These malfunctions create an unsafe sleep environment for infants. The lounge chair and its packaging still lack tracking labels that include the required information (including manufacturing date).
The seller Gorsetle US did not cooperate with CPSC to recall the product and did not provide remedies to consumers.
The advertising name for the baby lounge chair is GORSETLE baby lounge chair, portable baby floor chair, super soft and breathable newborn lounge chair. It is a must-have gift for baby registration, perfect for travel and lying down time (Crown). The lounge chair is equipped with a headrest and can be folded into a portable handbag with a handle. These lounge chairs are sold in three different printed fabrics, including crowns, jungle animals, and small elephants. These lounge chairs are sold online on Amazon for approximately $60. There is no label on the baby lounge chair.
Although the rules for baby sleep products are particularly applicable to products produced after June 23, 2022, the required production date is not indicated on the products or packaging of these recliners. Therefore, CPSC urges consumers to immediately stop using recliners, cut fabrics, and dispose of fabrics and pillows. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission urges everyone to stop selling baby sleep products that are not compliant regardless of the date of manufacture.
Remind parents and caregivers:
The best place for babies to sleep is on a sturdy and flat surface in a crib, cradle, or playground.
Only use a fitted sheet and do not add blankets, pillows, padded crib bumpers, or other items to the baby's sleeping environment.
Babies should always be allowed to sleep on their backs. Infants who fall asleep in a tilted or upright position should be transferred to a safe sleeping environment with a sturdy and flat surface, such as a crib, cradle, or playground.
