On March 10th, the US Food and Drug Administration released a proposed rule called 'Tobacco Product Manufacturing Practice Requirements' (TPMP).

The FDA is extending the comment period for the proposed rules by an additional 30 days to allow people more time to submit comments. We will now accept comments on the proposed rules before October 6, 2023.

The proposed final elimination management plan rules will impose new requirements on tobacco product manufacturers in the manufacturing, design, packaging, and storage of their products.


These proposed requirements will help protect public health, including minimizing or preventing pollution, and limiting additional risks by ensuring product consistency.
