The MHRA registration and certification process and submission time of British e-cigarettes, Regulation 2020 "stipulates the requirement to notify new products from January 1, 2021.
1. Manufacturers who put their products on the Northern Ireland market will be required to use the European Union Common Import (EU-CEG) system to announce tobacco and e-cigarette products.
2. Manufacturers who launch products on the UK market will be required to notify the UK domestic system.
If the notifier launches the product in one of the markets in Great Britain or Northern Ireland, they will be required to pay a fee. If the notifier launches the product in both markets, they will be required to pay the same fee.
MHRA registration and certification process of electronic cigarette:
1. Communicate the specific situation of the product (whether it has cigarette oil, how many flavors and models)
2. Determine product test cost and sample quantity
3. Sign contract
4. Send samples and fill in the application form
5. The laboratory receives samples for testing
6. Issue a draft report after passing the test
7. Confirm the draft report and prepare MHRA notification materials
8. Register MHRA system account
9. Upload test report and other notification materials and pay notification fee (UK notification fee is 150 pounds)
10. After the notification is passed, the product will be displayed in MHRA
Manufacturers of new electronic cigarettes and supplementary container products must submit a notice to MHRA six months before they intend to launch the products in the UK and/or Northern Ireland. Once your notice is published on the MHRA website, you can launch products in the notification area. If the notification has been issued, there is no need to wait for the rest of 6 months before putting the product on the market in the notification area.
