Who needs to register for EU REACH?

Date:2023-04-25 09:46:32 Classification :【question】 Visits:
Who needs to register for EU REACH? Registration is based on the principle of "one substance, one registration". This means that manufacturers and importers of the same substance have an obligation to jointly submit registration.

Accurate identification of substances is crucial in the registration process to ensure that the registrants of the same substance belong to the same joint registration. It also specifies the scope of joint registration as it facilitates the development of the Material Identity Profile (SIP) and the reporting of boundary components.

The company is responsible for collecting information about the characteristics and uses of substances produced or imported over one ton per year. They must also evaluate the hazards and potential risks posed by the substance.

This information is communicated to ECHA through a registration file containing hazard information, and the potential risks associated with the use of the substance are evaluated in relevant circumstances, as well as how these risks should be controlled.

Registration applies to certain situations of substances themselves, substances in mixtures, and substances in articles. Chemicals that are already regulated by other regulations, such as drugs or radioactive substances, are partially or completely exempt from REACH requirements.

Registration is based on the principle of "one substance, one registration". This means that manufacturers and importers of the same substance must jointly submit registration. The analysis and spectral information provided should be consistent and sufficient to confirm the identity of the substance.

For substance registration, a fee is usually charged.

Potential substance manufacturers and importers must submit inquiries and register the substance with ECHA before they can manufacture or import the substance.

All substances notified under the Hazardous Substances Directive (also known as NONS) are considered registered under REACH, and ECHA has assigned registration numbers to all notifications.
