Vermont Department of Health Adds Three Perfluoroalkyl Substances and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) to the List of Chemicals of Very High Concern to Children (CHCC Rule) with a Practical Quantification Limit (PQL) of 0.001ppm, effective July 2022 Effective from the 1st of the month.

- Perfluorohexanesulfonic acid (PFHxS);

- Perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA);

-Perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA).

Manufacturers must submit reports when children's products contain chemicals of high concern to children. Children's products are consumer products that are marketed to children under the age of 12 for use, sold to, sold, offered for sale, or distributed to children under the age of 12.

Each report is based on one chemical. With a total of 89 chemicals on the list, manufacturers can submit up to 89 reports per reporting year.

Along with perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), there are five PFASs in the list. The deadline for the upcoming report is July 31, 2022.
