The current call for EU ECHA to solicit opinions and evidence allows interested parties to express their interests and express their views and concerns during the preparation stage of the restriction proposal. They also asked interested parties to comment on different documents related to restrictions being prepared by ECHA, such as reports on substances in items and guidelines for restrictions.
We also welcome more information to prove or support the comments made. The collected information will provide input for developing attachment XV restricted files or other documents. When we publicly seek opinions and provide evidence, we intend to provide opportunities for parties who may not have been identified or consulted to submit information.
Soliciting opinions and providing evidence will not replace public consultation on restriction proposals formulated by member states or ECHA, which constitutes a standard part of the restriction process.
