Specifically, identified products may not be able to properly disperse extinguishing chemicals and extinguish fires. In addition, the product does not have a pressure gauge or indicator, a locking device to reduce the risk of accidental discharge, an automatic shut-off valve for intermittent discharge, or a nozzle to guide discharge. These products do not comply with voluntary safety standards such as UL 299 dry powder fire extinguishers, UL 711 fire extinguisher ratings and fire tests, and NFPA 10 portable fire extinguisher standards.
