According to reports, Bangladesh's Minister of Finance, Mustafa Kamal, proposed a significant increase in import tariffs on e-cigarettes and their components in the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2023-2024.
The import tariff on e-cigarettes will be increased from 5% to 25%, and the tariff on e-cigarette components will be increased by 100%. Previously, there were no import tariffs on the components of e-cigarettes.
The minister also proposed imposing an additional 150% tariff on liquid nicotine and transdermal nicotine.
