According to the Italian Parliament, the current ruling party, the Brother Party, proposed to amend Act 1038. The party proposed an amendment to ban long-distance and cross-border sales of Electronic cigarette. However, the amendment did not receive support from the Italian League Party. The Alliance Party has proposed a secondary amendment that only prohibits cross-border sales. These amendments will be debated and voted on by the House Finance Committee in the coming days.
The Italian Alliance Party has always supported the position of Electronic cigarette.
They believe that it is a more reasonable and feasible measure to only ban cross-border sales of Electronic cigarette, because it can limit illegal transactions and cross-border circulation, while preserving free competition in the domestic market.
It is reported that there are 22729 Electronic cigarette products officially registered in Italy. Among them, there are 10322 types that contain nicotine, and 12407 types that do not contain nicotine.
The previous Italian government cabinet took a positive position on reducing the harm of tobacco, allowing online sales of Electronic cigarette products. However, the amendment proposed by the fraternal party may change this position.
At present, the Italian government and legislature are carrying out intense discussions and debates on the sales of Electronic cigarette.
They hope to find a balanced solution that not only protects public health but also promotes economic and market development.
