The Law Enforcement Forum of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has begun to publish its views on the extension of enforceable restrictions.
On September 13, 2023, Helsinki - In order to improve the transparency of the legislative process, the forum decided to publish its opinions on limiting the enforceability of proposals. The recommendations of the forum will be made available on the website of the European Executive Committee on Humanitarian Affairs from now on.
The first published recommendation is about limiting the use of creosote and related substances in wood processing. The court believes that the scope of the proposed restrictions is clear and enforceable, but suggests making some modifications, such as setting limits and clarifying the wording of the restrictions.
The Risk Assessment Committee and Socio Economic Analysis Committee of the European Committee for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs will utilize the opinions of the forum when presenting their opinions. The advisory opinions, along with the final opinions of each committee, are shared with the European Commission to support its decision-making.
